Driven by the vision that everyone deserves a decent place to live, Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity (RVHFH) was chartered in 1991 to address the growing need for affordable homes in Somerset and Hunterdon counties. Low- and moderate-income individuals and families work side-by-side with volunteers to build their homes. Once the subsidized home is completed, RVHFH extends an affordable mortgage that reduces partner homeowners’ monthly housing costs by 30-50%, allowing families to reduce debt, build savings, and become financially self-sufficient.
