Somerset County Business Partnership Announces 2026 Legacy Award Honorees and Summer Social
Somerville, N.J. — The Somerset County Business Partnership (SCBP) will celebrate the remarkable individuals and organizations shaping the region during its 3rd Annual Legacy Awards & Summer Social on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Martinsville Gardens in Martinsville.
Held annually, the Legacy Awards recognize individuals and organizations whose dedication, leadership and contributions have made a lasting impact on the Somerset County community. From philanthropy and innovation to business leadership and service, the awards celebrate those who exemplify the spirit and values of the SCBP.
Guests will enjoy a cocktail-style reception featuring hors d'oeuvres, dessert, coffee, tea and soft drinks, along with complimentary beer and wine, while honoring this year's recipients.
2026 Legacy Award Honorees
Legacy Award: Tom Cannizzo
Tom Cannizzo is being recognized with the 2026 Legacy Award for his extraordinary commitment and leadership within the Somerset County Business Partnership. A dedicated member for more than 14 years and an ambassador for nearly 13 years, Cannizzo has played an instrumental role in welcoming and mentoring members, serving on committees and contributing to the Board of Directors. His passion for fostering relationships and strengthening the business community has left a lasting impact on the organization and the region it serves.
Legacy Award: Tony Esposito
Tony Esposito is being honored with the 2026 Legacy Award in recognition of more than two decades of service and engagement with the Somerset County Business Partnership. As one of the organization's most dedicated ambassadors and an active participant in one of its longest-running Leads Groups, Esposito has consistently demonstrated his commitment to helping businesses thrive. He also holds the distinction of attending more ribbon cuttings than any other member in the organization's history.
Legacy Award: Jim Hannan
Jim Hannan is being honored with the 2026 Legacy Award in recognition of his enduring leadership and unwavering commitment to strengthening the Somerset County community. Through decades of service and advocacy, Hannan has played a meaningful role in supporting local businesses, fostering relationships and helping shape the region's continued success. His dedication to community and his lasting impact make him a deserving recipient of the 2026 Legacy Award.
Sustainable Business of the Year: Raritan Valley Community College
Raritan Valley Community College has been named the recipient of the 2026 Sustainable Business of the Year Award for its longstanding leadership and measurable impact in advancing environmental stewardship. Nationally recognized by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, RVCC has been named the nation's top community college for sustainability achievements for 11 consecutive years. Sustainability remains a cornerstone of the college's strategic vision, reflected through innovative campus initiatives, green infrastructure and academic programming.
Nonprofit of the Year: Adult Day Center of Somerset County
The Adult Day Center of Somerset County will receive the 2026 Nonprofit of the Year Award for its unwavering commitment to improving the lives of seniors and adults with special needs throughout the region. Through compassionate care, innovative programming and a dedication to supporting families and caregivers, the organization has become a vital resource and a cornerstone of care within Somerset County.
