Weekend Art Instructor – Summer ASD Program

The Center for Contemporary Art seeks experienced art instructors to lead our Saturday summer program for students on the autism spectrum.

Program Details:

Saturdays, June 27 through August 8

Two available sessions:

• Morning: 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM (ages 8–15)

• Afternoon: 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM (ages 16 and up)

Instructors may apply to teach one or both sessions.

Position Overview:

This class is designed for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We seek instructors who can create a supportive, engaging, and structured environment where students can explore art at their own pace.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and develop art projects throughout the program

• Lead engaging, hands-on classes tailored to a range of abilities

• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment

• Adapt instruction to meet individual student needs

Qualifications:

• Prior experience teaching art to students on the autism spectrum is required

• Strong classroom management and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and thoughtfully plan curriculum

• Background in special education, fine arts, or art education preferred

Requirements:

• All instructors must pass a background check

Compensation:

Pay is based on experience.
