Volunteer ESL Tutors Wanted
Literacy Volunteers of Somerset County (LVSC) teaches everyday English skills to adult through a network of trained volunteer tutors. Last year we served 500 students from 47 countries around the world! Our volunteer ESL tutors help students set and reach important goals such as getting a better job, talking to a child’s teacher, ordering from a menu, and calling 9-1-1.
You don’t have to be a teacher to become a tutor; training is provided. Meet LVSC tutors here.
Looking for a rewarding volunteer experience? It's easy to become a volunteer ESL tutor. Here's how:
- Attend an information session – on Zoom.
- Attend our 4-week training workshop – no experience required.
- Meet with your student weekly: remotely, in-person, or both.
- Teach your student practical English skills.
You will make a meaningful difference in someone’s life. Meet LVSC students here.
