Part- Time Media Assistant

Description:

Under the direction and supervision of the Web, Design, and Media Coordinator, the Media Assistant is responsible for producing professional, visually engaging content by utilizing desktop publishing and graphic software programs for Park Commission Advertising. The Media Assistant is also responsible for creating social media posts, assisting in photography and videography, and contributing to other forms of public communications and marketing. The position will aid in any special media projects for the Park Commission and produce compelling content that aligns with our brand’s identity and goals.


Qualifications: 

Candidate preferably has, or is working towards a degree in Media, Communications, or a related field with an emphasis in graphic design and marketing. Possess a portfolio showcasing graphic design, marketing, videography or other work. Minimum of two years of experience in advertising, publishing content, or digital design and experience with websites and/or web applications is a plus. Have a strong familiarity with social media platforms and best practices for public engagement. Must have thorough knowledge of Microsoft 365 Office Professional Package. Must have practical experience in graphics creation with Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, InDesign (Adobe Creative Suite) and utilize web based graphic design platforms such as Canva and Adobe Express. Must have knowledge of the manipulation of images, and basic design elements. Basic knowledge of photography and videography equipment. Strong digital communication skills and knowledge. Strong understanding of graphic design principles, typography, and color theory. Must be detail oriented. Must have creativity, imagination, and versatility. Strong verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills necessary to interact with all levels within the Park Commission. Ability to work under tight deadlines and can handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Must possess a willingness to work in a collaborative, innovative, flexible, and team-oriented environment. Must possess willingness and an aptitude for additional training to remain current in the field. Must have a valid driver’s license.
