Norris McLaughlin, P.A. is a mid-sized law firm with headquarters in Bridgewater, NJ and offices in New York, NY and Allentown, PA. We have 120+ attorneys with over 30 service areas.
We’re hiring a Legal Recruiting Assistant to elevate candidate experience, support firmwide recruiting initiatives, and spotlight the people who make our firm exceptional through energized storytelling. This role blends attorney recruiting, event planning, content creation, and employer brand strategy. Be ready to network and interface with professionals while expressing your creativity.
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Entry-Level Recruiting Responsibilities
- Enter and maintain candidate information in the applicant tracking system to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate interview logistics and scheduling.
- Schedule callback interviews, gather interview evaluations, and prepare review packets.
- Support candidate follow-up and communication efforts.
- Assist with the planning and execution of offer receptions.
- Collaborate with law school student groups to support recruiting initiatives.
- Support all stages of 1L, 2L, 3L, clerk, and LLM recruiting and hiring.
Recruiting Content & Storytelling
- Helps create:
- Attorney spotlight features
- Culture videos
- “Day in the Life” content
- Testimonials
Social Media & Digital Presence
- Supports recruiting-focused posts on:
- Law school platforms
- Career pages
- Ensures job postings are:
- Branded
- Engaging
- Written in the firm’s voice
(Not just generic HR listings)
Campus & Event Marketing
- Helps market:
- On-campus recruiting efforts
- Summer associate programs
- Firm open houses
- Career fairs
- Works with marketing on:
- Booth materials
- Event branding
- Follow-up campaigns
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum of one year of work experience at a mid-sized or large law firm, career services or other professional services industry is preferred.
- Proficiency in the use of computer programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to recognize confidential information and to maintain confidentiality of such information.
- Ability to work efficiently independently as well as within a team.
- Highly motivated with strong initiative skills.
