Guest Services Coordinator

Guest Services Coordinator. Hillsborough, NJ | Part-Time (up to 20 hours/week)| Non-Exempt


At Feeding Hands, our mission is to deliver empathy, connection, and stewardship in service to our neighbors in need. We don’t just hand out food—we extend dignity, hope, and community to every person who walks through our doors. Every day, our team and volunteers work to ensure families facing food insecurity know they are not alone.


We are seeking a Guest Services Coordinator to support both volunteers and guests during our pantry operations. This role is vital in creating a welcoming, organized, and compassionate environment for everyone we serve.


Key Responsibilities

Volunteer Coordination & Distribution Support

Welcome, check in, and orient volunteers during shifts

Provide in-person support during distributions and troubleshoot as needed

Coordinate volunteer groups (corporate, schools, churches, etc.)

Support training reminders and identify volunteer leads for key roles

Guest Communication & Appointment Management

Manage pantry phone coverage, including scheduling guest appointments and returning calls

Maintain clear guest communication via WhatsApp, signage, and other tools

Coordinate wraparound services (resource referrals, events, support services)

Monitor guest communication channels and ensure timely, compassionate responses

Volunteer Scheduling, Communication & Outreach

Monitor volunteer schedules and fill coverage gaps

Respond to volunteer inquiries via email, text, or in person

Assist with scheduling community food drives and corporate team days

Build community relationships that support guest outreach and volunteer engagement

Administrative & Tracking Support

Maintain accurate volunteer records (e.g., Volgistics)

Track volunteer hours and update contact details

Prepare signage, forms, and materials for guests and volunteers

Support simple reports and data summaries


Qualifications

Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to engage warmly with guests and volunteers from diverse backgrounds

Highly organized, adaptable, and reliable in a fast-paced environment

Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates strongly encouraged to apply

Comfortable working independently and collaboratively

Proficient in basic computer tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft products) and email; willing to learn scheduling software

Experience in community services, hospitality, or nonprofit settings preferred


Position Details

Schedule: Up to 20 hours/week, including some evenings and Saturdays.

Work Environment: In-person at our Hillsborough Pantry. Requires frequent standing/walking,

communication with guests/volunteers, and some computer-based work.

Compensation: $21-24/hour; Benefits eligible
