We are seeking a Warehouse Assistant to support our daily warehouse operations at the Hillsborough Pantry. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and accurate flow of donated food—helping us serve thousands of families each year with compassion and care.

Purpose

The Warehouse Assistant works under the direction of the Warehouse Manager to manage food donations, support volunteers, maintain safe operations, and ensure the warehouse runs smoothly. This position is ideal for someone detail-oriented, physically active, and committed to our mission.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations

Receive, sort, and shelve/store food donations

Maintain safe, clean, and organized warehouse zones

Stage deliveries and distributions for efficiency

Support gleaning and donation pickups, including loading/unloading

Operate/assist with warehouse equipment (pallet jacks, hand trucks, forklift if certified)

Provide guidance and safety support to volunteers

Data & Process Management

Track product weights and assist with inventory records

Maintain accurate records for food intake/output and equipment use

Assist in updating SOPs and improving warehouse flow

Support administrative tasks such as supply tracking and reporting

Vehicle Monitoring & Logistics

Perform routine checks on Feeding Hands vehicles (mileage, fuel, condition)

Log vehicle use and report maintenance/inspection needs

Assist with donation pickup logistics and support to satellite sites

Qualifications

Valid driver’s license required; CDL and equipment experience a plus

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet throughout shifts

Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable using spreadsheets

Strong communicator and team player

Warehouse, logistics, or food distribution experience preferred

Schedule: Up to 20 hrs/week (approval required to exceed 25 hrs/week); flexible based on warehouse needs

Compensation: $20–23/hour, benefits eligible

Location: In-person at Hillsborough Pantry warehouse (Route 206)
