Chai Café Team Member

Dosti & Chai is looking for an energetic, friendly and dependable team member to join our café in Downtown Somerville!

We’re a community-focused chai lounge where great chai is only part of what we do. We want every person who walks through our doors to feel welcomed, comfortable and connected. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a busy environment and is excited to learn all aspects of the café.

This is a hands-on position that includes both front-of-house and kitchen responsibilities. No chai expertise is required. We’ll teach you our menu and how we do things!

What you’ll do:

• Greet customers and provide friendly, welcoming service
• Take orders and operate the point-of-sale system
• Prepare chai and other beverages according to our recipes
• Learn and assist with food and kitchen preparation
• Keep the café, counters, kitchen and customer areas clean and organized
• Restock supplies and help with opening and closing tasks
• Assist during events and busy café periods
• Work as part of a small team and jump in wherever help is needed

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is 18 or older
• Is energetic, dependable and comfortable talking with customers
• Has a positive attitude and works well with a team
• Is willing to learn both the menu and kitchen
• Can stay organized and work efficiently during busy periods
• Has flexible availability
• Is available to work weekends. Weekend availability is required.
• Is also available for some evening shifts

Previous café, restaurant, food service or customer service experience is a plus, but we’re happy to train the right person.

Schedule

This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule that may include daytime, evening and weekend shifts. Applicants must be able to work weekends. Please include your general availability when applying.
