NJEDA Small Business Grants & Loan Workshop

The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) has several products designed to support small businesses in New Jersey.  Saurin Parikh and Kathy Guzman from the Small Business Team at NJEDA will join us to share information about NJEDA small business grant and loan programs that may be of interest to small businesses and community partners.

Kathy Guzman Bio

Kathy Guzman is a Senior Small Business Liaisons for the New Jersey Economic Development Authority.  Her role is to share information and educate business owners and community stakeholders about opportunities available to small businesses in New Jersey.   Before joining NJEDA, Kathy ran a marketing, advertising and public relations company serving the unique needs of small businesses. She also served as Business Development Advocate in the Flemington NJ Business Improvement District.  Kathy is passionate about sharing information and improving equal access to opportunity for New Jersey small business owners.

Saurin Parikh Bio

Saurin Parikh is a Senior Business Development Officer for Business Banking. In this role, Mr. Parikh assists Management for the application process and review of the Main Street Micro Business Loan Program. Furthermore, Mr. Parikh oversees creating, establishing, and maintaining relationships with many banks in his Northern-Central NJ territory and partners up with them to provide NJEDA loans and Tax-Exempt bonds as a conduit bond issuer. Additionally, Mr. Parikh focuses on helping and educating small businesses to grow by offering loan products from NJEDA. Mr. Parikh first joined NJEDA as a Credit Analyst in 2020, became a Credit Underwriter in 2021 and a Senior Business Development Officer in 2022. Mr. Parikh played an integral role in the Underwriting Department as he underwrote complex deals for NJEDA’s traditional loans as well as Covid Loans and Micro Business loans.

Mr. Parikh began his career in Hudson City Savings Bank (now M&T Bank) and held various finance and accounting positions throughout his career. Mr. Parikh lives in North Brunswick, NJ with his wife and two kids. He holds a Bachelors in Science in Business Administration with a major in Finance from the Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida and an MBA from the New York Institute of Technology. In his spare time, Mr. Parikh loves to run, read suspense crime novels, and is an avid college football fan.
