About the Program:
This class builds upon the skills learned in Levels 1 and 2 and provides engaging experiences and activities that help toddlers gain greater independence and confidence in the water as they begin transitioning toward Preschool Aquatics. Participants will practice entering the water by stepping in from the deck or a low height and exiting safely using the ladder, steps, or side of the pool. Children will work on bobbing, opening their eyes underwater, and retrieving submerged objects.
Swimmers will develop foundational skills including front floats, back glides and floats with recovery to a vertical position, rolling from front to back and back to front, and treading water using coordinated arm and leg actions. The class also introduces combined arm and leg movements on both the front and back, including finning arm action on the back. Age-appropriate water safety topics are incorporated throughout the program.
